South Beach Dachshund Winterfest

Melanie and I took Lily and two of our doggies to the South Beach Dachshund Winterfest on Miami Beach this past Saturday. Willy went with me for the fifth year in a row, but this was the first year we took an honorary doxie along -- Olivia. Lily seemed rather underwhelmed by whole event, or maybe she just had trouble figuring out what all the fuss was about since she's used to being in a house with eight barking dogs. This event keeps getting bigger and bigger every year, with a turnout of between 200-300 I'm sure. And my rescue Florida Dachshund Rescue did well again with a fundraising raffle at the event.

We didn't have a lot of time for picture taking, but we did manage this one. I'm really not as haggard as I look!  :crazyeyes:

I know what you mean Mack by your event getting bigger! My family and I go to the Midwest Dachshie Fest and it has gotten bigger like yours.It's been held at a state park for 10 years and we had to go somewhere else last year because of all the people coming and their "DOXIES"! It's alot of fun.My family and I make home made stuff to take and sell and I also make home-made doggie treats that's been a big hit!  :thumb:

I think you all look like you're having great fun!  What a lovely place for the event!  We are lucky enough to have the Dachshund Phest at the local Fairground each year.  Hundreds of dachsies come to that one.  We also have a monthly meet up that usually draws about 30 dogs and their people.
