Well I came down with my third sinus infection in a month and a half!   When I went to the doctor he said,"This is strange I know you get them a lot but this is getting outrageous."   (Tell me about it)  When I got home my husband had called an inspector to come by and look at the house we are renting.  They found mold all over in the walls.  So...this house is making me sick.   Looks like as soon as we find a place, we'll be on the move...AGAIN!!   :BangHead:

I don't feel too bad this time though, just really tired.  Hopefully i can beat this one without antibiotics.   :xfinger:

OHH Man!! And just think that you just paid the rest of your deposit and everything!! I wonder if you can get all your money back from the landlady. Seem to me that you would have a good case there. It is obvious the house is in no condition to be lived in. Did you let her know yet? Depending on what type of mold it is you can get really sick!! I hope you can beat this with out more meds. I am so sorry for what is happening to you. Please keep us posted on what happens. Moving with all this snow is not going to be fun!!

OH NO, OH NO, OH NO!!!  I would think that you could contact the Health Department and make the landlady fix the mold in the house.  The house is literally a health hazard....you poor dear!  Aw gee, I hope you can get it fixed and won't have to move...and Mel is right...it is a shame that you just paid your full deposit, etc.  I too am so sorry about all this...you have been through enough!  I am hoping you can get the house fixed and won't have to move!!

I agree, you need to contact the health department, code enforcement, or whoever is in authority over rentals.  This must be fixed!  It's not that you're out to get your landlady, but if money is the issue she might rent it again without fixing it.  If a small child or old person lives there, they could suffer a lot worse than a sinus infection!

Gosh,
I'm really sorry to hear this and hope you find a new place soon.

Well according to the guy, its not the worst mold. Whatever that means.  But, since I have bad allergies that would cause me to have the sinus infections and ear infections more often.  He said the house was livable and that we caught the mold early enough for it to be easily remedied.  As far as the deposit money goes, we haven't paid it yet.  SHHH!!!    We told her since the house was not totally clean when we moved in we weren't going to pay it.  We have pictures showing how dirty it was and how clean it was after we moved in.   So we'll be covered if she decides to get nasty about it. And the pictures are dated too.

The guy said the mold is only in the bathroom and a little in the master bedroom.  But, he assured me that we would be okay for the rest of this month at least.  Our landlady is selling this house to our neighbor as soon as their house in Colorado sells.  The neighbor plans on knocking this house down as soon as she owns it.   So...as far as renters after us, I don't think we'll have to worry.  :xfinger: Not too many people look out here in the winter time.

Thanks for your concerns.  I'm sure we'll be okay the guy work for the health department so I would think he would have told us honestly if we needed to get out immediately.  He didn't say what kind of mold it was but did say it was NOT the highly toxic kind.

Well that is better news I guess. Still scares me though. Mold is nothing to take lightly. What is all this that your neighbor is going to buy the house and then tear it down!! So that means you have to move again anyway? What kind of time frame are you looking at here? That's a lot of moving for you. And that alone can stress you out!! Thinking good thoughts that everything works out great for you. Maybe this is a sign that your dream home is still out there waiting for you!!!

I am glad the mold is not the really bad kind, but I think it should be taken care of asap because anything that is a health risk is not a good thing!  And you still have to move because the house is going to be torn down?  What a shame!!!!  Sounds like that could happen soon.....geeze Louise!!! :doah:

Well I guess I didn't explain very well.  The neighbor does plan on tearing this house down as soon as they buy it.  But, instead of making us move into town, she and her family would move.  We would move into their house (about 100-200 yards away). Their house is really nice and it is a three bedroom. Rent would be the same in that house.  Either way we have to move.  But, moving across the driveway wouldn't be as bad.  The only problem is we are waiting on their house in Colorado to sell which may take awhile.  So...we are actively looking for a new place.  To be honest, I'm not that stressed out about moving this time.

The neighbors plan on knocking this house down and then once that is done they want to build a new home on this foundation that is bigger and nicer.   They would live in the new house once it was done.  I'll keep everyone posted on our house search. Right now there is nowhere to rent that I would even lt my worst enemy live in. Most of the places open right now are either expensive or a dump.   So...hopefully, we'll find one soon.
