Mama and I watched da news at 5:30 last night. Da wedder man sez, only 1 inch of snow, if any will be expected overnight and into tomorrow.   Den da news at ten, he sez, Well it looks like da storm is going to miss us.    :apls:  Mama got real cited bout dat since she had to be at werk at 5:30 dis morning.

Well...when we waked up at 4:30 da snow was on da ground.  (Remember the snow we weren't supposed to get?)   We had 2  or 2 1/2 inches from last Friday's storm already plus where mama had already scooped there was an inch of new  snow and it was still falling!!  Since it was too late to call in mama had to go in to werk.   Da roads weren't berry bad at all. Just some slick spots, but overall dey were pretty good.  Mama ended up habing to werk till 9:30 and by dat time anodder inch or two had fallen.   So...den mama had to brave da roads again by herself since daddy was at werk.   Wif all dose idiot dribers out dere it was scawy.  She sez dat she drobe in first gear all da way home from town cause it was so slick. Da worst part was da last 5 miles coming home.  It was really slick, but da snow was so deep on da road, dat mama had to go 20 just to keep da car fwom getting stuck in da middle of da road!

Once mama was home safe and sound, she turned on da wedder.  Da wedderman sez, "snow is falling in da area."  (NO KIDDING?!)   Den he sez, "Snow is expected to accumulate up to one inch."

"Excuse me?!  Mr. Dumbo, I don't hab a wedder degwee but I can see dat dere is WAY more den an inch of new snow on da ground, maybe free inches!"   I fink da wedder man lost his marbles.   :idiot:   Our road doesn't get plowed out here so...its a miracle mama made it into da driveway wifout getting stuck.   I hope eberyone else has a wedder man who knows what he's doing.  We can understand mistakes, but to continue saying one inch of snow after we passed dat hours ago is kinda stoopid.

I hope eberybody in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Iowa stay safe and warm today.   Da ice is gonna be REAL bad for eberyone east of us, so we are fankful we just got da snow part.   :xfinger:

Wow Barb! That is quite the difference.  I just saw on the news at noon today that where we live we got 8-10 inches on new snow!!  I guess it looks different from inside. I was thinking we got six inches out here, obviously I was wrong. If I could find my ruler I would go check.   That would be why it was so hard to get the car through this morning.  Its just so hard to tell when the snow was already built up 2 inches on the road and then we got more snow piled on top of that.  So... we'll see if it stops this afternoon like the say.   :dontknow:

:idiot: That is what the weather man is.  Just be really really careful out there...your weather sounds just horrible!!!  Here in Cinti they keep changing the temperature and it keeps going up and up.  It is 62 degrees here today...we feel like we are melting and our sinuses are giving us fits!!!  This whole year has been weird for weather!!

Glad you are safe.  As I have always sed:  "It's not the driving in snow that's the problem, it's the stopping."

Poop I hate to drive in it.

You are totally right Leslie.  LOL  I have not seen 1 car since I left town today. Not on the way home, and not since I've been looking out at the snow falling  from my chair.   Usually we have farmers coming and going in their four wheel drives to check cattle, but I haven't even seen that!  Its kinda eerie to be out here and see no one for hours and hours.  The county road department declared all the county roads passable at 9 am this morning and haven't said any updates from them since.  All their website says is that the area we live in has 8-10 inches of new snow.  That's obvious if you just look outside.

I am trying to figure out how to get my husband home for the night.  He is still in town at work.  There is no way I'm driving back into town again it has snowed a good four or five inches since this morning.   The drifts are literally up to the back bumper of our car!      I'm hoping his friend can give him a ride home in his four wheel drive jeep or at least let him spend the night.   I have to work tomorrow and unless we get plowed out I don't see that happening.      If I had a pickup or SUV we could probably at least get out of the drive, but we have a Ford Taurus.    :doah:  Granted it handles great on the snow, its just too short to get through it today.

Just the weather has lost it around here. Today it was 81 degrees. Tomorrow it should be 77 which will break a record set in 1934. Saturday, however, the high is supposed to be 45. And they wonder why people are sick all the time around here...
