We're moved!!!

Well, we finally got all our stuff moved to the new house.      I absolutely love it here.  I can sleep all night without hearing loud music, car doors slamming, or people running up and down the stairs.   The process of moving here took WAY longer than we anticipated!  All of our help on Friday night, and Saturday night bailed on us last minute.  So....little old me was stuck trying to help my husband get an 800 pound stacked washer/dryer up a flight of stairs.  :crazyeyes:  Um...yeah...not fun!   We made it though. 

Also I got really sick on Sunday.   I went to the doc on Monday and found out I have a sinus infection...again, bronchitis, an ear infection....again, and a high fever.   So...instead of unpakcing today, I have to sit here and stare at all the chaos.  I was told by the doc, in no uncertain terms, that I was to take the rest of the week off from work, and sleep all day yesterday, most of the day today, and nap during the day for the rest of the week.      Obviously he doesn't know that I'm ALWAYS on the go.     

When we finished the cleaning yesterday,(don't worry, I didn't work too hard) we called our mean landlady to come and have a look.  She looked around and said it looked good and she wanted our address to mail us our deposit check.     We said, "Well we were actually counting on getting that deposit money back today."  She looked at us for about 10 seconds, and then stormed out the door.  She stormed back in, threw her check book down and wrote us a check without saying a word.  Then she threw it at us and started locking up the house.   So...my hubby and I politely told her "Thank You"  and went out the door.   She ran into her pickup and sped off with out even acknowledging us.   I really don't understand why that set her off so badly.     She has to know that when someone makes an appointment with you to have you inspect the house they moved out of that they would want their deposit back at that time.    I am just thankful that its over with and we never have to see this woman again.  :apls:

Yeah!! New house and no more mean landlady  I am so happy for you! How is Porkey dealing with it all?

Sorry to hear your sick again. That really isn't fun when your trying to get settled in. If your anything like me, your probably chomping at the bit to get things put away! Please take it easy and get plenty of rest. We don't want you getting worse!! I will be sending rays your way for a speedy recovery!!

I am so very sorry to hear that you are sick again.... to you hoping you feel better real soon, but please take the doc's advice and try and get some rest.  You have the rest of your life to put things away...now for the good part....yippiee , no more mean old landlady :thumb:.....you had every right to ask for your deposit back immediately.....I am so glad you love your new house; that is wonderful.  Does Porky still have the kitty friend he found there?  I hope Porky loves his new house too!!

Real smart move on getting her to write the check right away, I could just see her blowing you off on that one.  I'm glad you got all moved.  Take it easy and get well.

At least the worst is behind you now! And you are away from that awful landlady. You guys have sure had bad luck with people, this one throwing a check at you and didn't you have a crazy neighbor that also yelled at you and threw the pie you made for her at you? I'd be anxious to be out in the country too if I were you. LOL.

Sorry to hear you are sick. I'm down with a rotten cold too. You have a good doctor, to map out when you should sleep mine just says "go home and get some rest. Next!" 

Take care of yourself. Any chance we can see some pictures of the new place? And Porky too of course!

I'm so glad you love your new place!  You were smart to ask for the money back right there and then, otherwise she might have come up with some excuse why you shouldn't have it.
