Just wanted to let you all know that I ate all kinds of festival foods for everyone :thumb:....the polish sausage sammich was the best....one day I had one of those real thick porkchop sammiches...yummy and a funnel cake and cajun bourbon chicken with rice and red sauce....(that was so spicy it made my nose run....haha).  I have been going to the Covered Bridge Festival many years and each year I find something special to buy.  Bought a quilted purse this year (brown and teal colors) that I just couldn't resist and of course had to buy my homemade sassafrass candy (tastes like root beer)  All in all it was a really nice mini-vacation with gorgeous fall weather.  Hubby loves it too (he likes walking around and watching people buy all kinds of things).  There was everything from homemade arts and crafts to flea market stuff to even a place you could sit and have your teeth whitened!!!  Really....but it cost $99.00....If anyone is interested in checking out the Covered Bridge Festival (it has over 2 million visitors each year, covers all of Parke County, Indiana which is near the Illinois border and runs a total of 10 days) you can find it online with just doing a search on Covered Bridges.  There are 33 beautiful bridges throughout the County; more than anywhere else in the US.  I do hope that some of you will be able to go someday....it is so fun!!!

Sounds like a blast!! I love going to Festivals of any kind!!   :hello2:    OK well I go for the funnel cakes the rest is just added bonus!! I think I have heard of that festival though. I used to live in Dayton OH so I am sure I have. But I don't think I have gone to it though. Is it close to the Amana colonies? I also remember something about that area being where the movie Bridges of Madison County was filmed or based on? Sounds like a great time. I think we should all go next year!! Do they allow pups?  :thinik:

I have never heard of Amana Colonies...what is that?  Is it something I would be interested in??  I am not sure if the movie Bridges of Madison County was filmed in Parke County but if it wasn't it should have been.  And YES, they do allow pups and I saw all kinds....I think I saw more Dachshunds than any other breed....and they were all soooo cute!!  Puppies in strollers, in Halloween attire...it was too cute.
