Rays needed for my Mom's Orson

If anyone could spare some rays or prayers, my mom's dachsie, Orson, was just diagnosed with bladder cancer and given little hope - they say it is very aggressive. Mom and Dad are 88 and they are getting pretty feeble, mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer, so losing their little dog right now is not going to help morale-wise. The one ray of good news - my sister found on the web that this type of cancer has been shown to be affected by piroxicam, the same drug that Stormy is on and Stormy is now 3 months past the time they gave him when he was diagnosed and apparently in full remission. Everybody keep your paws and fingers crossed and send good thoughts whenever you can.

Major rays headed for Orson and your mom.  I was THRILLED to hear that Stormy is doing good.  I was worried and concerned about his status but didn't feel right about asking.... I didn't want to seem nosy especially if things were as tough as we had initially with Franky.
One thing I've learned is to never underestimate the strength and tenacity of a dachshund.... they are strong in spirit and true fighters!

Rich, I was just wondering.  How is Orson doing?  Continued prayers for Orson and your mom.

I'm sorry to say that last weekend Mom had to help Orson go to the bridge. He had gone down and was paralyzed as well as suffering from his cancer - it was just too far gone.  I think that the vet didn't tell Mom how advanced it was.  Mom spent the last few weeks trying to care for him, but his systems were all shutting down and the time had come. Mom is devastated.
