The brushs make a horrible grunting noises and beat up all other wild life. It is illegal to kill them, they are ususally trapped and released a few kilometers away.

Wow, they sure are different from anything we have here.  The Brush tail Possums have a nice, thick fur and they are actually pretty.  But my favorite has to be the little ring tail guys....lol.....so cute.  They remind me of squirrels (although much cuter and a little bigger)......  It says that the Brush Tails like to live in attics, and in spaces inbetween roofs, etc.  Have you ever had any problems with one of them getting into your house Roberta?  Where I live, we seem to have a large number of bats at night for some reason (which I don't mind because they eat insects).  The bats get into my neighbors attics on both sides of us.  Hahaha...on the one side they are two women and they will come to the door with a broom and ask for my husband to come over and kill the bat....he will catch it and put it outside.

I have never seen either of those!! They are both really cute! Are these two guys related? Do you see either around you much? The brush tails sound kind of nasty like our raccoons can be. They are all so cute it makes you think you can walk up and pet them! (and lose a few fingers in the process!!)

It is amazing, all the different species out there. Our raccoons are in the bear family, I'll have to go and read up more on your brush tails. Very interesting.

We have never had them in the roof, thank goodness, it bad enough when they run accross the outside of the roof. My dear father once went up to stock one and ended up with a bad bite.
We have a rather large gum tree out in the front garden and the ring tail family we have live there. They are the cutest, but on saying that the little ^%$ eat the new growth on ANYTHING, rather like a Dachshound they have been known to eat the skin of lemons when they are still hanging on the tree, my in-laws came out one morning to a tree covered in naked lemons.

AmY and OLlie welove to chase them and mum says I'm funny trying to climb da tree, Amy at the moment just tells me where to go.

They sound similar in habits but very different in looks to ours. LOL on the naked lemons! That's a first! I can't imagine the peelings tasting better than the lemon itself.

That's good teamwork, Amy! Oliver better watch out, you might get used to this and keep telling him what to do once you are 100% again!  :thumb:
