Just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone to say Thank You for all your kind words.  Sam was a great little guy and Eddie and I miss him so much.    We are both doing better, but Eddie still is very lost at times.  He won't let me out of his sight and if I go to another room with the door closed he cries.  But he is finally eating and loves the fact he doesn't have to share the big bed with anyone but me.

Since we are not getting a new pup anytime soon Eddie wanted me to ask  all the single pups for advice on how to live in a one dog household.

Again thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Awwww Eddie - it is hard losing your best friend....  you will adjust - you just have to give it some time.  Looks like mom will be working at of the house a lot with her new site - you can be her helper !!!!

I've been thinking of you guys constantly too. I can imagine the h*** you are both going through. I'm glad Eddie is eating some (I hope his Mom is too). Several times a day I'll stop and think, "this really couldn't have happened." It takes a long time to adjust. But it will get better.

My guess it will take Eddie a while too but he'll grow to like being an only child given that you are home so much. Hallie loves it, she likes other dogs but she would not be as happy with a sibling as she is as an only child (might be a different story if I had to work away from home). I think in the beginning she really missed her sister, Rich and Deb's Sophie, but now she likes being the Princess of the house and she still gets to visit other dogs. I think Eddie will be just fine.

You will both get better with the passing of time.  Losing someone you love sure leaves a big hole, though, doesn't it.  I've been thinking about you a lot.
Eddie.....as far as being an only dog, I think your mom should get you lots of (safe) toys and treats to keep you company when she has to go somewhere without you.  Enjoy getting spoiled little man!  Hugs to both of you.

Marcia, I have been thinking about you and Eddie also.  God Bless you both and it will get better with time.  I currently have a three dog household but I can give you advice for helping Eddie adjust to being the only pupper right now....just give him love....and hugs and lots of attention.  He will be fine and so will you.    Cheryl
