Yikes! I'm with Barb - test that dog for steroids!!! Poor thing. Although, she looks happy.

Pretty freaky. I talked to a lady who knows the dogs and she said it's a gene that doesn't turn off so the muscles keep growing and they have an overbite and horrible muscle cramps. Poor dog. Shorter lifespan too which in this case is probably a blessing...hard for them to get around.

Wow...I saw the comment from another gentleman who had a Whippet with the same condition.  I have never seen anything like this before.  Could that happen with any breed or I guess it is more prone to certain breeds?  I can't imagine a dachsie with double muscles....

That's a good question, I have never heard of it at all so am not sure if it happens in other breeds too? I sure hope not!

My whippet friend said she knows it happens in people but doesn't think it happens in other breeds at least she has not heard of it in any other breed.
