Well.....no.   Thankfully, its just beautiful out, and around 80.  There will be lots of celebrations tonight.  (I'm glad I'm not carriage driving anymore, it will be hectic tonight.)  Dan called and said he picked up steaks and potato salad for dinner, so I guess we will BBQ.  Then I will pack for my trip to Homer.  My friend Linda and I are heading down to Homer to visit my sister Carol tomorrow and will return on Monday.  I sure hope this weather holds out!

Our sun sets officially around midnight tonight, but rises at 4am.  Its light round the clock right now. 
When will it be dark at your place, Terri?

It gets dark around 8:30 or so and the sun is up around 6:30.  I just can't imagine having that many hours of daylight!  Do you have room darkening shades or drapes in your bedroom?

Now you have me thinking Patti. Like Terri, we get dark between 8:30-9:00 and light again around 6 or 6:30. What is it like in other parts of the country? I know it isn't the same everywhere. What about the Mid West or West Coast?

As for the southern West Coast, we are light at 6 and it gets dark about 8:52 (now).  I sort of liked the 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. night when Mocha's mom (Brenda) and I did our Alaskan cruise many years ago.

We have no blinds in our house, we don't like to shut out the outdoors.  I do wear an eye mask some of the time.  But hey, we're Alaskans, we expect this just like we expect the darkness in the winter.  I think its strange when I visit the lower 48 in the summer and its dark by 9pm.  Now THAT'S wierd!!!
