Hello All,

It is with great sadness that we have said goodby to Cocoa, aged 16 years.  She passed today without pain and in her sleep at the Vets.  We were close to making the decision for her; but, she took it out of our hands.

Cocoa passed out on Sunday evening and we rushed her to our vet.  Ken stayed home with her Monday and she passed out again in the morning and then again in the evening, each time followed by a run to the Vet's.  Last evening Dr. Rick said he wanted to watch her and provide additional meds to try to stop whatever was ravaging her body.  This afternoon she slipped over the bridge.  All here are heartbroken.

I will write more and post a picture when I can.

Hug your doxies close tonight...

Dianne

We're so sorry to hear about Cocoa.   Please take some solace that she lived a good, long and happy life.  Sending rays and prayers your way.

Godspeed, Cocoa-Angel!  I am guessing that you were our senior wiener for a few brief weeks, then!  I know how hard it is to deal with making the decision to let go.  I have done it twice, and it was taken out of my hands as well, when first Gretl slipped away and then Siglen slipped away when I wasn't watching her around the spa when I was trying to drain it.  We know Cocoa was met and greeted by some of the best and finest furkids about these parts.

I'm so sorry, Diane. After you go through the grief period, you will see what a good life you gave her and be able to smile about the good times. You and Ken hang on to each other and it'll make it a little easier.

I am so very sorry to hear that Cocoa passed away.   16 years is a good, long life, but when we lose them, it doesn't seem long enough, does it?  I would really like to see a picture of her when you have time. Take care.

We are very sorry to hear about Cocoa.  It is so hard to make that decision.  But sometimes they make it easier on us and take the decision away from us.  After losing 2 older ones the last couple of years we really know how you feel. Sending HHHHHH's & PPPPP's to you all.  :comfort:

I am sorry to read this and that you are going through such a rough time.  Know that 16 years is a long life and was only possible because you loved her and took care of her.  She knew that and when the time was right for her to go, she went so you wouldn't have to make the decision.  I'm sure she was trying to spare you that and take away the questions all the "what if...?".  She loved you and wanted to make sure you knew.   :comfort:

Dianne I am so sorry, you have to be so heartbroken. I hope reading all these posts from people who truly understand and care (and most having been there themselves) will help a little. Time is the only thing that really makes a difference, I hope you can soon remember her with smiles instead of sadness.
