I am just catching up with all the posts and I am sending  to everyone on the sick list and  to you all.
We are well here, even if Spring is on hold
Zuzu had a few days where she was a little subdued and "hidey", so we dosed her with anti-inflams and made her rest.  The vet concurred that it is probably some kind of arthritis--it seems to be more pronounced after the weekend activities and after getting up from extended rest--but WHERE?  Legs? Hip? BACK!??!?!? Of course, only an MRI willtell.  So, watchful waiting is the key.

Loki has a bit of an allergy flare-up and the vet prescribed an eye ointment.  Now, here is a dog that won't let you TOUCH her feet or her ears, but stick something in her eye--no problem!  She continues to amaze me.  I think the secret here was to very cheerfully catch her off guard, give her some carrots and just approach the situation like it was the most normal thing in the world.  She just sat there !!!!!!I have been able to give her eye oinment without any problems fro three days.

Me?  Other than the frustration of waiting for actual planting weather, I am doing well.
All my love to you and yours!

LESLIE!!!  You have been so missed around here.  I wanted to thank you for your note about our Dolly.  In fact, so many of my dachsie friends took the time to write.  It was very touching and was just the right word at the right time.

Funny about Loki.  Our Loki dawg has always been a li'l ......differt, yes?  Poor Zuzu.  Maybe some doggy massage will make her feel bettah.

Pop in when you can.  I'm starting a new job in about a week 'n' a half, which is gonna be putting me, once again, back to posting at home only.  Do get back here as soon as you're able, y'hear?

Hi Leslie, good to hear from you!  We, too, are awaiting spring.  Things are thawing out around here and typically, April is an ugly, muddy month.  But seeing light behind those mountains at 5am as I was heading out the door tells me that summer is not far off.

How old is Zuzu?  My two boys are starting to get a lot of white around their faces.  Especially Willy, but thats because he is so ornery.  They are 9 years old.  Thats funny about Loki not letting you touch her feet or ears, but eyes are no problem.  Thats dachshunds for ya!

Les! Good to get an update from you and the girls. How can Zuzu have arthritis, how old is she, seems she should still be a baby! They get old way too fast it's really scary. Funny Loki, doxies just don't always follow all of the rules LOL. Those darn allergies...Hallie's haven't surfaced for this spring yet but I'm sure they are lurking I have seen a little foot biting starting.

Poor Zuzu!!  Hope her arthritis is managable and doesn't cause too much pain.   How is Loki doing now that you posted that she was easily taking her eye ointment.   LOL  Every time I brag about oneof my animals taking their medication well, they suddenly start fighting it.  Those allergies can really be a pain.  Hope they clear up real soon!

Zuzu is 6 and Loki is about 8.  Loki has a little frosting on her face, head and feet.  Zu has the errant white hair here and there.  I really took her to the vet so the doctor could give a listen to her heart and lungs, to rule out anything that might be making her tire easily--although  I suspected all along a back and/or arthritis thing.
