Dis is Eddie.  Yesterday moma took me to see Dr Cindy for my yeary visit and on da way home some guy plowed into us.  My carrier fell off the seat and momma ht the steering whell, but is OK or so she says.  However my poor car isn't so good.  So today I am staying wif momma all day to make sure she doesn't over do it.  Should I sit on her so she can't move?

Mrcia here - it wasn't even Friday 13th.  Eddie's vet visit went great and I even got meds for Sam's senility.  So as we were on our way home I stopped for a light and some idiot plowed into the rear of my VUE.  I think I hit the steering wheel because I have a bruised face and neck.  Poor Eddie rolled off the seat in his crate and really didn't know what happened, he just kept looking at me as if to say,

"What was that."

He's OK, but refuses to leave my side and does lievery close to me whenever I sit down.  As for my VUE it wasn't driveable and we won't know anythhins until later today.  My only other problem is that the impact sent my glasses flying and broke them - I'm trying to talk the insurance company into paying for a new pair, but don't know if they will.

Well, I'm going to sit all day watch movies and eat bon bons.

Oh No!  I'm glad to hear everyone is OK, just a little bruised and battered.  Isn't it funny how our puppers seem to know when something is amiss.

Take it easy and I hope the insurance works out without any hitches.

Glad you and Eddie are OK.  Good thing he was strapped in his carrier!
Let him sit next to you and take care of you today.

I learned a valuable lesson from a guy in a body shop who used to be an insurance adjuster.  Insurance has to return you to your original state.  That means WITH glasses.  Just hold your ground and don't let an adjuster talk you into any less.  Better yet, get a lawyer to assist you.  This is one time when they can earn their pay.  A lawyer who is looking out for his bottom line is looking out for yours as well.  Choose carefully.  Hope it all works out for you.  Keep us posted.

Oh geez, Marcia!  I'm glad you are both okay, but it sounds like it was bad.  I would think that the insurance company is liable for your glasses.  You MAKE them pay, your glasses are something that was in the car and got damaged, same as if someone broke into your car and stole your CD player.  Take it easy.  I know that something like this, even when its not your fault, is never easy and never without cost and inconvenience to you.  I wish I lived closer so I could help out in some way.

My current insurance company is great.  I had three phone calls from the company yesterday afternoon, each from a different division to get the facts.  The adjuster is going out today and take a look at the car and my rental is waiting for me as I write this.  My previous insurance company never took such an interest ithe last time I was hit, guess when you join AARP you get the best.  As for the glasses I was told get them and then turn in the receipts.

Eddie says momma is doing OK, but the C-A-T won't leave her alone.

Mike

OUCH!!!  Glad you are ok, but don't be quick to say you have no injuries.  Whiplash can take a little while to show up.  My mom was broadsided years ago and ended up with nerve damage in her neck and shoulder.  We'll hope nothing like that for you and Eddie.
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

OH man Marcia you just never know what the day is going to bring! So glad you and Eddie are OK. But what a pain with your car and glasses. Still, a day to count your blessings, you deserve to sit and eat bon bons for a day! Let us know what happens the insurance.

Poor Eddie, and you didn't think your day could get worse after going to the vet!  :doah:

Marcia , I'm glad you are ok  , BUT did you go to the hospital?  As Mike said , some things don't show up for a while.  In my accident  (I was at a stop light and the lady behind me didn't stop) there wasn't a scratch or a drop of blood ... but I suffered a broken neck. Please be careful, and don't sign off with the insurance company too soon.

Oh no!!  You take it real slow now, y'hear?  I'm glad there doesn't seem to be any serious harm done but please, if you feel any pain, make sure you get yourself looked at.  Kiss Eddie for me.  I'm glad he's okay.  Good thing he was in his crate.  Something I need to think about.  I tend to let the Roo just ride on my lap.  Hmmmmm.  Might have to rethink that.  Thinking of you here in SLO.

I'm so glad you guys are ok!   How scary.  It is incidents like these that make me the paranoid doxie mom that I am.  Porky is always in his crate when we are in the car.  I go so far as to buckle his crate in on the seat also.  That way if we were to get in a wreck his crate wouldn't move off that seat!   I hope no injuries show up later on and I really hope you can get your car fixed real soon or get it replaced.

Brekkesmom

Now that was hairy, but I was glad to read that you are all right!  I am glad Eddie only seemed to be surprised, and not injured.  It sounds like AARP insurance will be just the ticket to get it all back as it was.  Sorry to hear about your Vue getting crunched - especially since it is my favorite vehicle - I have the gold instead of your gorgeous dragonfly green.  Did your airbag go off?  Rays for bruises to heal quickly and insurance to come through! :xfinger:

The main thing is you are bothOK, cars etc can be replaced no matter how annoying. Hope you both are relaxing and letting the insurance company do its job.
