Dyson Fever - Yep! I got one!

So after much deliberation and research I decided to get a Dyson. After reading posts on the board about how happy people were with the results I decided to lay down my money and get one for myself! I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond and was able to use the 20% off coupon!! I got the DC17 Animal.

So let me just start of by saying Drew and I are pretty clean. We have about 800 sq ft of carpet and it is only 2 years old and we don't wear shoes on the carpet. If you ask Drew he will say that I am OCD about cleaning! I clean all the time and vacuum all the time. We have Princess Penny who doesn't shed a whole lot and since we have fake grass outside with no dirt is pretty clean. And we have Mr. Tucker who is an inside cat and is clean but does shed some. I vacuum twice a week and it has only been a couple of days since I last ran the vacuum with our Hoover Windtunnel which up till now I thought was pretty decent.

The pictures say different...

Ewwww, that is so gross that that much stuff was in your (mostly clean) carpet! I know that our carpet would be 10 times worse- our old hoover is on its last leg...

I'm tempted too! This sounds like the ultimate vacuum. I can't believe how much dirt you got out of a clean carpet! Wow.

I know...scary! It really is great. The other nice things are that it is quiter than our Hoover and so much lighter. It was a breeze to vacuum even the stairs. I give it to thumbs up!!

Dang, I need a new vacuum but I definitely would throw my back out lugging what the Dyson picked up. Where did you get the BB&B coupon?

I got mine out of the Sunday paper but there is also an online coupon you could use too (but you have to pay shipping) but still a good deal. The code I had just expired so I am sure they are going to be emailing a new code out. I'm glad you like it, Kari. I've had mine for about 6 weeks, now, and my opinion has not changed - I LOVE it! The whole house smells cleaner. That's probably my imagination, but Ron seems to think so too. I got the DC17 Animal also. And, yes, it is light to run. My other vac was self propelled but it was heavier than this one - hard to believe it's not self propelled. It's also easy to empty.

It got me on a roll for cleaning all my floors, so now I own a Hoover H3030 hard floor cleaner. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far I'm impressed with how it cleans tile and hardwood floors. So, for you people out there that have hard floors and HATE to mess with dirty water (as I do), check into this contraption. I'll let you know what I think as I use it more - only used it twice. The first time, I thought it was more trouble than it was worth. The second time went much faster because I knew what I was doing. Oh, and it helped that I took off the cardboard that was over the squeegee (I know that's not how you spell that!) - thus solving the problem of hardly any dirty water in the "suck up water" bin, the first time I used it.

And don't throw out your expired coupons, either - they still take them - or at least they do in CA and Missouri! I used some 20% coupons for my ionic breeze air purification systems, so it is a good deal! By the way, B, B, & B have some great hangers in turqoise, tan, and lime green that have the non-slip coverings, and black ones with 4 sections for hanging pants in less space - if you have any more coupons, we love our new hangers.

That is too funny! I have the Hoover H3050 FloorMate Hard Floor Cleaner for our tile floors and I love it. I thought it was a little cumbersome the first time too but now I love it and it is fast and easy and works great!

I'm pretty sure that I have been convinced! :thumb: I only have carpet in the bedrooms and my home office but I have 16 little dachsie feet running all over it all of the time.
I don't think ANYONE is going to want to see what comes out of my carpets!

I found out the bb&b takes competetors coupons too like "linen and things".

With 5 dogs I can't wait to get off work to go get one.

I still love mine. It will really be great if I can find the time to use it. I would love the chance to vacuum the whole house at one time. Mine has a low floor attachment that works great on hardwoods, so that would be great for you Terri. If you get the one that Kari got or any of the Complete kits they usually have this tool. You can also purchase it separate. The funniest thing at our house is Schatzi doesn't like the Animal!! She will run away from it and usually hide under the bed whenever I start it. She never really minded the Windtunnel and it was much louder. Go figure...

I absolutely love mine too! I didn't get the animal though, just the boring original model.

I've had mine two years now. It is the BEST vaccuum ever!!! I have SEVERE allergies to everything outdoors and indoors, and my Dyson has significantly decresed the number of days I get sick because of allergies! :apls:
