The White Stuff is here (but not for long)

Mamma took me out early this morning and there was white stuff everywhere! Little pieces of ice were starting to fall from the sky, so she said it might not be around too long, so she had to take pictures now. I really wanted to check out the doggie next door, but gave her one good picture. I figure if she's going to be home all day, and Daddy's going to be home all day, I need to cooperate, treats might be around somewhere...

Those are great Teresa!  I love the second one where he is looking through the fence and lifting his little paw as if to say, "Boy, this white stuff is COLD!"
Thanks for sharing!   Yes, if mama and daddy are home for the day, there surely will be treats!  :)

I was wondering if you got the snow you were anticipating.  I'm so glad you posted pictures of it.  Your pupper looks very bewildered.  Great photos!

She was really funny. What she didn't like was the sleet hitting her as it fell. I was really hoping it would snow long enough for her to see the flakes falling, but that didn't happen.  Now we are getting a lot of freezing rain with the sleet and the tree branches are already forming icicles. Hopefully our power will stay on this time, but I'm sure we will have areas around here that will be without power for some length of time, I just hope it's not as bad as the last ice storm we had when people were without power for as long as a week. This isn't looking quite that severe, but you never know what to expect around here!

That freezing rain is just horrible.  Stay home if you can.  I am very thankful for our woodstove when our power goes out.  Not only for heat, but it has a flat top, we could warm up soup on it if we had to.  And with its lovely glass door, we have light as well.

Did they close the schools down there, did the kids get a "snow day"?  Bet they are loving it.

Oh man, I feel like an idiot!  Your baby is not a HE!  I knew that!  So sorry Teresa....to many puppers to keep track of and getting a little older!

I love the way she holds up the one paw.  Misty does the same thing.

Yes, the schools are closed. I'm surprised they didn't close them last night before it even started. They have done that before, if it seems pretty certain. Occasionally, it backfires and the kids will be out of school and the roads will be clear.
The problem here is we DO usually get more ice than anything and therefore lots of power outages, and if we get a lot of snow, we have very few snowplows to clear the roads. The people who have moved here from areas that are used to a lot of snow always laugh and say that the city closes down as soon as the flakes start falling! When it is as rare as it as become around here lately, not a lot of work would get done anyway!
Nothing is falling right now, but more is forecast for later. It all depends on the temperature as to what happens then.

I'm sure its pretty exciting for you guys, getting snow!  Yeah, I'd probably laugh at you, but like you said, you guys are not equipped to handle SNOW  :meme:!!!  Things can get pretty hairy around here, too, when we get a big dump of snow.  I'm glad I have a 4WD cause the little cars do have a real hard time of it, they get stuck so easily.
