She looks like a wheaton/wire, she is sooooo cute! Go for it. Dachshunds are like chips, you can't just have one. Ruth, I was at a recent show and took some pictures of the wires there, I'll email a couple to you! Very pretty! Some day I'd love to have a wire! Good luck!

I do not know how you could resist her---what's not to love!!!!!! You know -- Ellie just might like to have her for a sister -- I say go for it. If I can handle two Doxie babies with the rest of my very large crew

Ruth I am so sorry!!! She does realize that these are very small dogs and do not take up a lot of room. She is too precious not to adopt. If I was closer I would take her. Bev

We can try and put a positive spin on things:

Think of all the money you've saved - Dachshund puppies from reputable breeders are not cheap, and then comes all the supplies, vet care....etc.

Ellie is still speaking to you, because she is still Queen Dog in the house.

You don't have to try and move or return a dog that the landlord did not approve.

I'm sure the puppy's breeder will find her the right home, that is a breeder's job - to find their pups good homes, or keep them if the right home is not found.

You are so right Krista. I am glad that she thought to ask first. Being a responsible pet owner should be the first priority. It's sad to see all those pets abandoned in the aftermath of the huricane. I know some people couldn't take their pets but I just can't see how they could leave them.
