Happy New Year, Everyone!!!

I hope 2007 is going well for you so far.  We had quite the New Year’s celebration!  I actually let Lynn invite a couple of friends over for the evening.  The theme was “Pajamas, Pigtails, & Popcorn”.  I had gone to the dollar store and made up goodie bags with all kinds of girlie things and a few silly ones too.

We never did get to the popcorn…  A good time was had by all.  I think we finally went to bed around 3 am…now it’s two weeks later and I am STILL finding metallic confetti everywhere.

I just watched a DVD called “The Christmas Shoes”. If you get a chance, it is worth watching. Rob Lowe is in it.   It’s a wonderful (and also sad) movie that made me cry. It is based on the song of the same title done by the country band Alabama.

Let’s see, what else? I do need to write more, lol. (bad me, bad me)

I am partners with Lynn’s Grandma Suzy in ownership of Shady (that mare I was buying last summer).  She appears to be in foal and should deliver sometime in early June of next year.

I miss not being able to get out to see her more.  Since GS retired Lynn’s horse Venus, we just haven’t gotten out to the ranch at all. With the better weather we are getting I hope to make it out more and we will focus on Shady for now.  She is also boarding a 30 yr old mare named Ginger who is an absolute doll.  Mariah got to sit on her and loved it.  I am going to make her some applesauce for a treat, as she has no teeth, lol.

Other than that, I am only dealing with the dryer than usual climate.  At least that can be combated with lots of lotion!

I can’t believe I am saying this, but since it looks like we won’t be having any blizzards soon that I am ready for some spring!

Mariah finally has the song "Jingle Bells" down now & it's really cute! I am going to try and tape her.  She is officially starting her potty training.  She really likes those pull-ups with The Little Mermaid on them. Kids are so funny at this age.

On the critter front…as I type this Ming is whining in frustration because he can't "bury" his bone/chewy thingie behind the bookcase, lol. I don't know why he wants that spot when he is so adept at burying his snacks everywhere else...(the couch...Mariah's bed....under my pillows...in the electrical cords under the fishtank..)

Tonka has decided that it’s fun for him to escape out the front door and go gallivanting for a few hours at a time.  This is against the complex rules, so we are trying to be really careful about keeping him in and will start walking him more.

Aleu has had a better winter without the continuous cold temps.  It has been much easier on her arthritis.  She has periods where she is very kitten like and it’s really great to see.  I have made my bedroom their sanctuary and she likes to tunnel between my covers and chase my feet.

Lynn went back to school on the 3rd and is glad to be back into her routine. She is home today however as she slept in and isn't “feeling well”. I think she might have a touch of "back to school-itis", lol.

Mariah is mad that her sister won’t take her to school.  She wants to go with sister so bad, lol.  I may enroll her in a Headstart program a couple of days a week.

This weekend I am staying rested and will kick this whatever it is by Monday. I have decided to take on the monumental task of itemizing my library...

Have a groovy weekend and don't get into too much trouble...the saga continues...
