wanting a playmate

we have decided to get a new playmate for lilly. she is 1.5 year old. any suggestions? we would like to do a rescue or adaopt a puppy. what boos work good with doxis other than doxis if we cant find one?

Hi, not sure I can be of much help here, as we have had a wide array of dogs.... lol  We have always had a Doxie regardless, but in that mix we have had an adult Rottie, a baby Rottie, we now have 2 Cocker Spaniels, and we have also had a couple of mutts, one was Black Lab, Chow, Border Collie, and the other was German Shepherd and lord only knows what else... lol   So, like I said, i doubt I am much help, but I think it just depends on your preferrence and how the dog is raised if it is a bigger breed....  Good luck on your search...  Keep us informed...  *hugs*  ~Tara

I would be willing to bet that you are able to rescue a doxie.  Do a google search of Dachshund Rescue and you will get TONS of information !!!  There may be an organization closer than you think !!!   Good job for going rescue - there are tons of babies that need homes !  Keep us posted!

Check out www.drna.org! That's Dachshund Rescue of North America! Since 2001 I've adopted 4 from there and had good luck.
