What a great day I had!  First I was mad......I was sitting on my throne minding my own business and I saw a CAT across the road!  I know it was a cat, even though mom tried to tell me it was a Skunk so I wouldn't care.  I tried to be quiet and just pretend I had to potty, but I think Mom knew I was gonna chase the cat.  I whined a lot, and after about 20 years Mom let me outside.  I didn't go in the road, I'm no dummy.  I just raced the perimeter and barked in case that cat could hear me.  Kirby was a whimp, and was to afraid of the cold to come out and help me bark.

BUT THEN - it was time to bring out the mail!  The "other Sue" takes the mail out.  She is Mom's exceptionalist or sumpin' like that.  She is gullable!  I can look at her with my big brown eyes and she gives me anything!  So I went with her to take the mail out, and stinky baby dog came along.  Sue went to the mailbox and I raced to the field behind the business next door.  Of course, SBD followed me.   It was windy and I could smell VARMINT!

I found a rabbit nest!  AND, right by it was a mouse nest!  SBD and I were enjoying a smorgasboard of vittles when "the other Sue" found out what we were doing.  She started screaming and hollering because she is a girly girl, and some of our MAN friends from work came to see what was going on.  Mom was very freaked out, something about today not being a good day for me to hunt because of my "special day" tomorrow?  I dunno what thats about, but the varmintz were good!!!  I didn't like having Mom inspect my teeth - she was mad about the fur in between them and I wasn't very cooperative helping her get it out.   SBD impressed me (but I will not admit that if you try to quote me), he actually growled when he found out he couldn't keep hunting.

So thats my day.  Oh wait, I did get a BATH tonight....Mom said there was more dirt in my feet than she ever saw before.  Kirby got a bath too - but he still stinks.  So I am clean, and tired, and not sure what the "special day" tomorrow is about, but its all good.

OH, and Mom told me they gots new GREENIES out......LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Happy weekend everyone, I do not get to go to the lake house but I don't think its because of the porcupine!

WooHoo!  Sounds like you did have a great day yesterday, King Sol!  Do check in with us after your "special day" today.  Rays and belly rubs to you!

King Sol, I guess you could just tell your mom you were trying to Floss your teeth!! Being a dental hygienist, I think that's a great idea, of course I haven't heard of anyone using rabbit fur for floss before. I'm glad you had a great day today and you're doing such a great job training Kirby.
Hope your mom finds the new Greenies for you soon!

For the others who are interested, they have reformulated the Greenies so they are easily digested. You can go to Greenies.com to find out more and get a free sample.

Back from the vet - Sol ended up with SIX teeth being pulled.  The vet said that its very odd - he's never seen periodontal disease that starts at the ROOT of the tooth.  Typically, you see decay in the top of the tooth - the part you see.  In Sol's case, the roots are deteriorating and its impossible to see it without xrays.  Since x-rays take about a half hour, the Dr. didn't want to keep Sol under anesthesia that long (the surgery required 40 min).  We will have to watch his teeth and he will go back in six months for the xrays.
Leave it to King Sol to come up with some unusual ailment!  Must run in our family.  The good news is that all his other tests were great - and he didn't even know he got a manicure!  The bad news is no greenies OR dingo bones for FIVE DAYS.   :BangHead:

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Hi Sol&Kirby: I'm very glad to see you're back! I've been wondering about the 2 of you and your Momma Sue.
Sue: This year I can't wait to send out Christmas cards.I just got some that I can put pictures in.The picture will be one of the 2 boys and myself.

Ouch.   Getting teeth pulled is no fun.  I know Max went through a number of extractions, but this was much later in his life.   Max adapted to his loss of teeth fairly quickly...and that was at age 16.  I'm sure Sol will be able to bounce back even faster.  Sending rays to the King.

Wow King Sol 6 teeth!!!
You need to stop coming up with these odd things. :thinik:
The ZZ's would like to help you next time you go hunting too.

Zena here--Make the most of the teeth, mom will feel so sorry for you and maybe you will get some special things while you recover.

Oh Brandy - I can't believe you had SEVEN teeth pulled!  When I heard Sol had six, all I could think of was "how many does he have left?!?!?".  I will make eggs for him (and stinky baby dog) in your honor tomorrow.  Thanks for the tip!
