King Sol Update

I took Solomon in to the vet yesterday, to have the lump on his nose checked out. It WAS an imbedded quill. It was so deep it hit the nose bone and then bent, and it was broken off so we never could have gotten it out. Sol was AMAZINGLY well behaved, and even laid down for the vet. They numbed his snoot and then just cut the quill out. Minimal bleeding. He was doped up on benedryl so had a relaxing day. AND THEN the vet informed me that Sol has one cracked tooth, and one broken tooth. They can't be saved and must be pulled. As long as he is on antibiotics for the porcupine incident we are going to have the teeth taken care of this Friday. He will be put to sleep and the teeth will get pulled, he will get a good cleaning and a manicure and spend the day at the vet's.

I plan to use the time without him around to run a bunch of little errands. Of course, I will still have stinky baby dog - but I could get away with stuffing him in my purse if I had to.

I had meant to take Halloween pictures to share, but things got a little hectic this week. Maybe we will dress up for Christmas. LOL.

Ouchie King Sol....glad you got that thing out of your nose !!! Sending rays that the teeth pulling and manicure all go smoothly !!! I think you should get eggs that night because your mouth will be sore ! :thumb:

Oh my goodness. OUCH. Hit the snoz bone?? OUCH!!! Broken teeth to boot . OUCH OUCH! Maybe a blessing in disguise in the end, it helped to discover the teeth problems and he'll be good as new soon. But...OUCH!

I'm sure Sol figured that after getting all the quills out the other night, the vet couldn't be too bad!
I'm glad it wasn't worse than it was, quill-wise, and hope the dental trip goes smoothly. I bet Sol will definitely keep his distance from the porcupines now. Hope Kirby enjoys being an ONLY for the day!

Poor little Sol! An embedded quill. Ouch! I'm glad that he is ok though. As for the teeth....Chilie had to have a tooth pulled about three years ago, and while she was out they cleaned them and trimmed her nails too. She did fine; I'm sure Sol will too. Belly rubs and kisses to King Sol and Kirbydoodle!

Poor guy! How painful. I'm glad they were able to get the quill out. Too bad about those teeth though! Porky had a tooth removed and seemd to be just fine the next morning.
