Update: Peter is home!

Peter got much better during the night last night.  The vet lanced the absess and cleaned out the bite.  There was also another large bite on the bottom of his foot also that we didnt see when we took him in.  Since he kept trying to lick off the ointment they were putting on the wound they had to bandage his leg.   This morning when the vet called she said Peter had soaked through 10 bandages last night.  But, that the swelling was almost better and the wound was looking much better.  She also said that he could come home, but has to stay inside and be on antibiotics for the next 6 days.   And that he still was not walking on that leg at all.

His wound is now uncovered so the skin can grow back in to fill the hole in his leg.  As soon as we got him home, he walked out of his kennel.  And guess what, he was even using the injured leg!!   Which the vet told us would probably take a week, so that's great news.  Also the baby cat came up to the house late last night for food.   So we checked him over.  He had bad scratches on his face and blood all over him, which we assume was Peter's or the animal that attacked them. 

So...All is well in our house for now.
