Where do  you live?  Rural Linn County, Iowa

Spouse?  Husband Roger, married 27 years.

Children?  Amy, age 20, currently a junior in college.

What do you do for a living?  Senior Administrative Assistant at a large avionics and communications business in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  That is my paying job.  I also volunteer as organist to my church.  the pay may be zero, but the retirement plan is out of this world!

If you dare...your age and describe yourself.  47, but according to my fitness trainer, my physiological (overall health of one's body) is now 19!!  I'm five-foot-six, 136 pounds, hazel eyes and my hair is dyed reddish-brown.  I come from a family who prematurely grays, so I make NO secret that I color my  hair.

What is your dream car/vehicle?  Color?  Lamborghini Countach LP500 S, cherry apple red!

Other than your passion for dachsunds, what are your hobbies?  Hiking.  We've hiked in Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and in New Mexico.  Cross-stick, and music.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?  Scotland, the land of my ancestors.

Do you collect anything?  Shot glasses.

Favorite food/favorite junk food:  King crab legs, garlic mashed potatoes and a good white wine.  Junk food - Munchos and Southern Comfort.

Favorite Movie:  Steel Magnolias.

Favorite Color:  Purple.  I was definitely going to marry Donny Osmond, and his favorite color is purple.  It is still my favorite color.

Favorite song/artist:  I like almost all genres of music, from Enimen to the Black-Eyed Peas, to Bach and Beethoven.  I also hail from the days of Styx, Kansas, Jethro Tull, BTO, and Nazareth.  I'd have to say my favorite classical songs are "If Thou Art Near" by J.S. Bach and Beethoven's 9th Symphony.  My favorite "classical rock" songs are "Stairway to Heaven" and "Hair of the Dog."  My favorite current song is "Without Me" by Eminem.

Tell us a funny story about yourself.  My very first plane ride was to travel with Roger to visit a company he was considering working for.  He was a senior in college, ready to graduate, and several companies had expressed an interest in him.  I usually did not accompany him, but this particular company said that, since we were engaged, they would pay for my trip as well.  We boarded the plane, a little prop-jet puddle-jumper and took off.  I knew next to nothing about how planes fly, so when the plane turned by tipping one wing down, one wing up, I was convinced we were going to crash.  I grabbed the seat in front of me and was preparing to scream when Roger quickly (and loudly) told me everything was OK and this was how planes turned.  Everyone on the plane turned to look at us and started laughing.  I was so embarrassed!

What is the most exciting thing you have ever done?  I'd have to say being a student at Indiana State University in 1978/1979 when we (almost) went undefeated, and Larry Bird was playing.  Our student passes got us in the games for free, but the catch was that doors opened 3 hours before the game, and seating was limited.  Once the doors opened, it was a free-for-all to get to the seats.  I witnessed one dude sailing over three rows to get to the front seats for students.  The bathrooms in all the dorms used the square-type toilet paper, so we would gather up huge stacks of toilet paper and literally create a snow-storm in Hulman Center after the player introductions.  Hulman Center would shake and the noise was unbelievable.  The exciting games, Larry's plays, TV coverage and being ranked Number One was one thrilling ride!

If you won the lotto, what would you do with the money?  It depends on the amount.  If in the 100-million-range, I'd give a tenth to my church and find that Countach.  I'd give some money to my family and pay off our Parent college loans.  I'd then find the meanest (but ethical) accountant around to keep as much money as we could from the Federal Government.

What are you most proud of?  My recent weight loss of 26 pounds (and counting).  I now feel like I can go out in public with a bathing suit, and am REALLY, REALLY looking foward to my next high school class reunion next year!

Any other tidbits that you would like to share?  As a senior in high school, I set the individual record in the 100 butterfly that stood for 10 years.  I also swam the 200 Individual Medley, and the 500 freestyle (20 lengths of the pool).

In the attached picture, left to right:  Me, daughter Amy, Roger, cousin Laura; at the Kennedy Space Center.  If you are ever in the area the KSC is one great place to visit!
Luke Skywalker:  "I, I don't believe it!"  Yoda:  "That is why you fail."

I loved your part about Donny Osmond. I saw him being interviewed the other day and he said he was a grandfather now. I started feeling quite old then!!! I had his albums and knew all the words to his songs!
Congratulations on your weightloss. It should make the reunion even better!

Sorry I'm late, MindyKay. It is so interesting to read these bios. Sounds like you've had a wonderful life.  Your daughter is very pretty. LOL on the Donny Osmond thing...everytime my husband hears or sees Donny, he looks at me and starts singing "Go Away, Little Girl." It's his way of making fun of me for having been a fan. Men just don't get it. Donny Osmond is a grandfather now?!!!!! OK, scratch all I said about him...who is Donny Osmond? LOL!!! Where did all those years go?
