Nurse Chilie to da rescue!

My daddy and hoosissy are sick with colds today.  Daddy stayed home from work, so it must be bad!  Mommy is helpin' me be a good nurse.  I'm snuggling wif daddy.  I'm also helpin' mommy 'cause dis mornin' when she was carrying Lara downstairs, she slipped and fell down da stairs and smashed her toes into da closet door.  Lara is ok, but mommy finks she broke her toes!  So here I am....Chilie da nurse to take care of my WHOLE family all by myself.  Phew!  A doxie's work is never done....

Beth here:  I was about four stairs from the bottom when my foot slipped off the stair and I slid down right into the closed door.  Man, did that hurt!  I was carrying Lara, but thankfully she wasn't hurt.  She didn't even cry when we hit the bottom.  She just looked at me like, "Whoa, that was a rough ride!"  Chilie gave my toes a nice licking this morning.  That felt good and made them feel better!

Owww Owwww OWWWW!!!  Thank goodness the baby is okay!  And your poor toes.....hope they just got a strain and aren't broke.  Sounds like Chilie is taking VERY good care of her family!

My goodness Beth. That had to hurt like a buggar. I too hope your toes aren't broken. Although I had to laugh at the look that must have been on Laura's face. I hope everyone is over their colds too, there is a lot of that going around already, no fun.

What a good nurse you are Chilie! Everyone will heal up a lot faster with those good doxie vibes.  :thumb:

Good Chilie!!!  What a great little nursie you are!!!   Keep licking those toes and bringing those kleenex to you hudaddy and husissy.   Porky really likes to bring the kleenex to us when we are sick.   I really hope your toes heal quickly!!  Broken toes hurt so badly!!!   Take lots of ibuprofen and ice them.   I am so glad your baby girl wasnt hurt.  That must have been terrifying!!   

Porky sends doxie kisses to help everyone heal. And a special doxie kiss for his nursie friend.     He's hoping she gets lots of treats from this one, especially the toe licking, that had to taste pretty icky!!!   :wink  Hope you all feel better real soon!!!!

Beth here:  Chilie has been such a good nurse all day, especially for her daddy....she's going heavy on the snuggles!  Lara has pretty much gotten over her cold, but hubby's is hanging on.  MindyKay, so sorry to hear your hubby has bronchitis....yuck!  Good thing Ozzie is there to play nurse.

Dee Dee, I was expecting Lara to start crying, just because the fall was scary, but she didn't cry!  She's a tough little girl.  I, on the other hand, wanted to cry!  My toes are doing better.  They don't hurt as bad as they did this morning.  I have a little bruising, but that's about it.  I also have a nice rug burn down my back and on my right arm, which I didn't notice until later on today.....after my toes stopped hurting! Hahahahaha!

Oh man. Nothing hurts like stubbed toes and you took it far beyond that! (ow ow ow). No wonder you didn't notice your rug burn til now. Laura IS a tough little girl! It just strikes me funny to picture you guys bumping down the stairs and you trying to be brave for her sake and she is just staring at you in surprise with her mouth hanging open. Not that your bruised toes are funny but I can just picture Laura's expression LOL.

Hope the whole family is 100% soon sounds like you are all on the mend!

If it hadn't been me, I'd be laughing too!   Lara was concerned about me after it happened...Kelly was home and rushed downstairs to help me up, but I just handed him Lara and said, "Don't touch me!"  I just needed to sit there for a minute.  And where was Chilie through all this?  Snuggled up in her Chilly Dog Bed....probably glad that she wasn't in my arms at the moment!
