One of my foster mom's sent this to me and I just had to share. I have not seen it before.

I was walking with my lab late one night
And when he dashed off, I got a fright
I held onto the leash while he ran around
At the hydrant, more dogs he found

He did the dash

It was a hydrant smash

Into it he did crash

And my daschunds ran out and they jumped the fence
And then they did commit one more awful offense
Attacked the mailman, and he ran away
Where they should be, they don't ever stay

The doggies were having fun
Halloween had just begun
We had a costume party
Those scared dogs had to run

We had a good time, I was eating some mounds

The german shepherds from next door ran quickly
They ran down the road, we could plainly see

It was clear we were smashed

While they were hiding, found my dogs soon
Seems they were howling, at the full moon
They're now in the yard, some kids walk by
They said, "Hey there, dogs! Want some candy? The ones we don't like?"

And they pooped in a flash

Now everything's cool, dogs are in the back lawn
Now my dogs won't dash, and I let out a yawn
People are leaving, the party's all done
But the dogs decided, they just wanted to run

Sue, I love it!  I teach a dance that incorporates the Twist, Mashed Potato, the Jerk, the Swim, and your "own thing" for the verses in Monster Mash - I have the old one by Boris Karloff - and it's part of my p.e. curriculum.  I'll have to read this to the kiddos after we've practiced it a few times!
