Porky here: Da state Patwol camed to bisit me!!

I fink I might be in twoble.  Eiver dat or da momma's mad at da neighbors.  We gots a knock on our door last night at about 7.  And guess who it was?!  The state patwol man!!  We was confused cause we didnt do nofing illegal.  Den he said its acuz the neighbor called cause of a barking dog.  Um...don't know who coulda done that?    Anyways...now momma and daddy are mad.  I pwomise I only barked one bark and dat was acuz momma said the G word (Grandma) and I gots excited.  Pparentwy da neighbors are gwouchy round here. 

Porky's mom:  I am so aggravated with our neighbors!!  THis is the third time they have called the state patrol on us!!  It seems like they find any excuse to call.  The first time was for excessive noise which happened when my husband's car wouldn't start when he had to leave for work at 5 am.  They complained that him trying to get the car to turn over repeatedly was excessive noise.  And then last night Porky barked one time and they complained that he had been barking constantly all afternoon and that their son who has hearing problems was in tears because of it.  Couldn't they have come to our house and asked us to quiet the dog instead getting police involved?   THis is really getting ridiculous.  I can understand why they would call if he had ACTUALLY been barking for a few minutes, but he let out one bark.  Luckilly we weren't given a ticket and the state patrol officer just asked us to keep Porky quiet.  He said the neighbor's story was kinda debunked when he pulled in our drive and heard no noise at all.   

Our other next door neighbors said the same neighbors call them in frequently too.  Bryan ( the nice neighbor) said they once called him for smoking a joint when he was sitting on his bench smoking a cigar.  I guess we'll just have to bake those grouchy neighbors more goodies and kill em with kindness.

Oh geez, nothing is worse than having the neighbors from hell.  I'd be mad, too, if someone called the police instead of trying to talk to me first.  Sounds like you're not being singled out, if they have called in your nice neighbor, too.  You COULD try turning the tables on them.............go ahead and bake some cookies, bring them over and apologize all over the place for the barking.  Those jerks won't know what to do with that.  You gotta dis-arm them, and nothing does that quicker than catching them off guard with kindness when they are expecting a fight.  Its worth a try.

Hey Porky - give them a little grin and they will melt - or they SHOULD anyway !!!!  Nothing more frustrating - they could have at least talked to you first.  I think the Kill them with Kindness routine is worth a try !

Well, We did it.  Momma and I marched ober to da neighbor's house last night.  We came armed wif a big smile and a homemade strawberry cheesecake. (Made with the berries in our garden.)   Da guy answered the door (wif a big smile)  when he saw who it was his smile quickly faded.  Den, He said um....hi, and pwoceeded to pologize to us for his wife calling dee cops.   We said no hard feewings and gabe him da cheesecake.  He was weally happy bout that. 
Momma said I was weally sorry for barking and that she wanted dem to meet me so they could see how well ahaved I am and how quiet I can be.  Dat man was wealy impwessed and said I was cute    Den he called his wife to da door and our bisit turned ugly after that.   She eben yelled at my mom and frowed the cake at us.  YIKES!! 


Porky mom here:  Our neighbor man came over this morning and again apologized for his wife and explained that she has been having some mental health issues lately and is acting like a @#$% to everyone.   He obviously felt really bad and I could see that he truly meant his apology.   I told him not to worry about it and that I hoped we could become good neighbors.   :xfinger:  He thanked me for being understanding and said he was impressed that someone my age could act so mature about the situation and not get angry back.  MAJOR EGO TRIP. LOL   Although, I'm not sure the reference to my age was a compliment. LOL   Anyway...now that we can understand what is going on with his wife, it will be easier to deal with her.   The kill em with kindness thing always works better than getting revenge.

Wow. The way you handled this could be an example to us all. Now you know that you have one ally in that house and the man knows that he has a neighbor that has gained some understanding. Awesome result.  Thanks for keeping us updated.

Please be careful with Porky someone with a mental illness could try to get revenge and do something to Porky I would try to train Porky not to eat anything on the ground would not hurt to check the area where Porky goes out. If you do not have a Privacy fence for Porky's area it might be worth putting one up.
Had a friend years ago that had mental illness she got so bad I had to quit associating with her very sad I did not realize it at the time but she mistreated her dogs.Just be careful you never know about people nowdays do not mean to scare you but it does not hurt to warn people that are so trusting & nice.
Example: We do not do anything about our neighbors trees I have asked them very nicely if they could do something about their trees my husband put up an all metal privacy fence with a concrete curb at the bottom of it. It cost allot of monies to put the fence up, the privacy fence was put on the inside of the existing cyclone fence so we gave up some property now the trees are growing into the fence and tearing the fence up they have about 5 trees. it is a jungle over there have an old wooden shed in the back yard over there has been there at least 30 years I find dead rats in our back yard at times. I just hope Patches or Buddy do not eat on the dead Rats I think they may have been poisoned???Would love to hire some one to go over and cut down the trees but do not have that kind of monies.I think the negibor would not mind it at all do not think he knows what to do with the trees they are so big and so close to both houses. My husband will not go talk to them so it is a mess my husband does not like anyone.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.  As far as keeping Porky safe from that woman, we got that covered.  I'm glad you thought to give me that advice though.  Pokry NEVER goes outside alone.  Where we live, we currently have no backyard fence or anything so... I usually take Porky out walking 3 or four times a day instead.   

YEs....she really did throw the cake!!!  I was kinda shocked. LOL  Unfortunately, Porky couldn't eat any!!   (His mean momma wouldn't let him.  LOL)  He can't have anything with much milk in it or it makes him sick.
