I started student teaching last week. I am having a hard time managing my time on school work and my family.  I never knew writing lesson plans and interacting with the students would be so hard. I dont post very often, but I do check the board every day while drinking my coffee (at 5am). This group is so supportive of every member of the board. I am asking all of you to remember me until December 8th.

I graduate from Mississippi State University on December 8th. I cant wait. Right now I am having a hard time with time management. I have 15 lesson plans due by tomorrow. Juggling plans and 3 children that have extra curricular activities is very overwhelming. The best part of student teaching is the opportunity to make a difference in these childrens lifes.

Hi, Lucy Lu!  I have begun my 33rd year of teaching, and the 21st year in my district.  I teach second graders- in what grade are you student-teaching?  I know it is hard, and I didn't have anyone but myself to worry about when my student teaching day began at 7 at school, and ended at 5 when I went back to the dorm to do lesson plans, tape spelling dictation, correct papers,  and pray over them!  I definitely am sending you rays and    to get through this!  Best wishes and good luck!

No matter what they teach you in your classes, it is never the same as the "real world" experience. I'm sure you are glad you are getting a chance to do this with an experienced teacher, but I'm sure you are overwhelmed. I'll have to remind my daughter next semester when she is doing her social work internship that she is at school, single, and not trying to raise a family at the same time.
I'm proud of you for doing this and trying to make a difference in a child's life. I'm sure Julia (Brekkesmom) can give you some great tips when you are really feeling stuck!
