New guests

Clifford has been sniffing all over the deck for a couple of days.  I thought he was just being loony again, or perhaps the chipmonk was back.  But this afternoon he stood guard over the only spot there might be a way to get under the deck.  Tonight I decided to pry the lavender branches away and look myself, when I was growled at by an unseen guest.  My guess is either 'possums or raccoons.  I really don't want either, but both are better than a skunk.

Whatever was under the deck decamped while I was away getting dinner.  I sprinkled flour all around the entrance point when I came back Saturday night and there still are no tracks going in or out.  Now I need to get a big rock to wedge into the opening.
