Porky here:  I been weal lonely lately.  I eben have been pwaying with da bugs!!  I carry my Bobo everywhere wif me, but he cant share food and tweats wif me, so hes not so fun.  Also he cant bark at me.  My kitty used to live in da house before we moved to the lake, and i weally miss him to pway wif.  But, momma takes me outside to pway every day.  I eben met a baby dog that I wanted to bring home.  I licked her and cuddled her and was weally gentle wif her.   But, momma still said no!

I have noticed Porky seems lonely lately.  When we were visiting the animal shelter to find another outside kitty, he saw another dachshund girl that was about 3 months old.  He immediately went up to her cage and sniffed at her.  We had them put us in a room where we could let them get to know each other.  (In hopes we could take her home)  Porky immediately fell in love with her.  Unfortunately, our landlord will not allow us to get another dog.  Porky carries his Bobo all over the house and seems to get upset when it won't "talk back to him."  Also he has been bringing bugs into the house and trying to get them to play.  LOL  He nudges them with his nose, barks and then runs circles around them.  When they just sit there, he walks over to the couch and lays down with a huge sigh.

Any ideas what we could do to help him not be so lonesome?  I am home with him all the time, but he seems to want interaction with other dogs.  None of our neighbors have any dogs that are nice enough or small enough for him to play with.  I am thinking of buying him another Bobo, since he likes to "take care" of the one he has so much.  He tries to get it to eat with him. LOL

Poor Porky Boy! I found these toys in my ABC Distributing catalog and have been thinking of getting a couple for the ...  :angel4: Angels (or Monsters) I think that they would be fun. There is no one in your area that has small Porky friendly dogs? Too bad you cant convince your Landlord into letting you get another. As much of a PIMR my two are I couldnt imaging having just one ever again. If I lived near you I would bring the puppers over to have a play day Bish LOVES other Doxies (well & dogs for that matter). Have you asked your vet if there is anyone in the area that has Doxies? Here is the link for those toys.

Porky sounds wonderfully social......unlike my Hooligans.  Is there a dog-park you can take him too?  How about getting to know some of your neighbors and their "kids".  Maybe you could arrange a play date for Porky.  Or how about taking walkies?  Maddie LOVES a good walk.  Dolly would rather snooze on the couch.  I hope Porky finds a friend real soon.  He sounds so sad now.

Porky really is a social butterfly.  Unfortunately our town has no dog parks.  Since we live at the lake, there aren't many neighbor dogs to play with.  most of them are BIG dogs like great danes, etc...  I do know a few doxie owners in my area, but unfortunately, none of them like to be playful or social with other dogs.    Also, thanks for the link to those toys.  They sound like lots of fun!!!   Porky has also "adopted" a new baby teddy bear.  He is carrying it around the house now too, along with his Bobo.

Your idea of a walk is a good one!  We usually walk about an hour total throughout the day.  Maybe we need to go for mre walks?  After his half hour long walk, he is pretty tired and goes to sleep burrowed under "his" quilt on the couch. I think I'll also take him over to my in-laws house down the street and he can play with Spike, their C-A-T. ( spike thinks he's a dog)  Porky also likes to play with their two black labs. But, the younger one is just too rough with him.  I think maybe momma Dusty and Porky will have to play separate from the wild girl.
