I picked up Toby-man at the Neurologists this afternoon and he is doing great!  It appears that he did have several seizures this morning so they were able to really observe what is happening with him.  They told me that when it was over he cried for a bit like he does at home but they held him and talked him "back".  Man, talk about guilt for not being there....
He seems a little bit groggy to me from the anesthesia ( he was put to sleep for the tests they had to do) but the type of anesthesia that was used is very quick and not as hard on his body as some can be.  To be honest I hope that after this I never have to learn more than I have learned in the past week.  I am beyond tired of putting him through all of this.
The doctor will be talking with me tomorrow on our next step. She did say that it might take awhile to get the right dosage on his meds.  A lot depends on what she sees with the MRI and bloodwork and everything else.
So all is going really well....I am currently sitting here with Toby and Buelah curled up next to me enjoying my second glass of wine.  All in all a rather nice place to be!  Thanks again for all of your support...and Mike.....your last post made my day!  I suspect we were thinking along the same lines!   :thumb:

Terri,
I am so glad you are there to help Toby.  Without you in his life who knows what would have happened to him.  Poor Toby.  I am so glad you were able to find out what was going on after so many months spent in sadness and frustration over what was occuring!  Stay strong!  I really think God put you and Toby together for a reason.  He knew Toby needed a someone who was loving and willing to do whatever it took to help him with his problems.

It makes me angry that someone could do such cruel things to an innocent animal!   I totally agree with Mike posted also!  We'll keep sending rays and Prayers for you and your precious Toby!

Its good the docs got to see the seizures actually happen.  That will help them more than anything in figuring out what is happening.  Sounds like Toby is getting some real good care.  I hope he can get the medication he needs to get this under control.  YOU are SO wonderful to be hanging in there with Toby.

Hopefully the worst is over now, for you and for Toby. Even though it may take a while to get the medication adjusted correctly, the number of seizures should start decreasing no matter what. Enjoy the wine, you deserve it after this last week. Too bad Toby can't have any-of course he is probably getting his own relaxation through the love he is feeling.

Thank goodness....our family was  really hard for you!  A former co-worker of mine had a dachsie that had seizures and although it took a little time to get the right meds and dosage, eventually they were controlled and he lives a happy and healthy life.
Hang in there!
