I'm hoping that everything has gone well and you are home and updating us soon. I'm also hoping that you survived okay. I'm sure Hallie did fine, it's you I was worrying about the most! Are you running out of wine yet?

We just got home I took her to three vets, we didn't do the procedure because my vet feels it may be a tumor. I am in shock. Second and third vet feel it may be too, although it may not, but it is suspect. The plan right now is to have her put under next Wednesdday and get a biopsy or remove it if it looks obviously bad. Meantime just pray ti gets smaller.

Whoa, not at all what I expected to be reading. I'll definitely be praying. Maybe it will go down in the meantime. At least you have cautious vets who didn't just jump in a lance into it and waited for another opinion.
Maybe July (which, thank goodness, starts tomorrow) will bring better things. Just keep your positive thoughts going, no matter how hard that is sometime or how tired you are right now. We'll all join in with ours, too.

Oh, my!  But "may be" definitely is better than "is".  Putting on our best positive outlook on the whole thing and we are praying it is just an uncomfortable swollen nodule on her anal sac...    :bandaid:

We're sending all sorts of rays and good vibes and prayers and hope for a good outcome to this.  I can't imagine how hard this must be for you.  The best possible outcome would be if it is an abcess or something benign and it comes out next Wednesday and all  Hallie's troubles are related to this and she (and you) can get her recovery under way at last!

Sending prayers and positive rays!  We pray it is just an infected gland.  Delilah had hers removed years ago due to terrible problems.

Dee Dee and Hallie

Thanks for the good thoughts I can barely function, I took her to a fourth vet yesterday who was the most encouraging of the 4. I'm trying to keep that one in mind but I can't help but be terrified, this has happend way too many times in my life. The good side is Hallie pooped a nice round stool this morning so at least the thing hasn't gotten huge overnight or something. I just can't believe this has all happened in 3 weeks.

Sending mega rays Hallie's way.   Tumors are pretty common in dachsies...and most of them are benign.   Max must have close to a dozen of them on him, including one huge one on his back.   Happily, every single one of them is benign.   We didn't biopsy them, but had they been malignancies, I don't think he would have been able to put 17 years behind him.   Just take a deep breath and believe that things will turn out for the best.

Dee Dee things have been hectic in our house with the new arrival of Sugar, crazy busy with work etc and hubby travelling a lot, but I have been trying to catch up on what is going on the board. I have read about Hallie and you are both in our prayers tonight. Sending lots of hugs and SUPPORT from Australia. Take care and please keep us posted.

Suzie

Is there an emergency vet that might do the work on Monday?  After the last 2 weeks, enough waiting.  You are in my thoughts.  Lots of rayz coming from all of us.

Dee Dee and Hallie

Thanks, David...I'm thinking those tumors are probably lipomas, fatty tumors that are benign as doxies get older. This one is in her anal sac and if it is a tumor and not from the blockage it is likely to be bad. I am still trying to think it is a blockage.

I hope so too April I honeslty couldn't survive this.

We'll take all the prayers we can get Paula thanks.

Suzie if the gland has to come out it needs to be done by a skilled surgeon. There can be complications like incontinence and there are a lot of nerves back there. The vet wants to wait until Wednesday to watch it a little longer to see if it goes down at all on it's own with the antibiotics and hot packs. I want Wednesday to come and go but I'm scared to death for it to get here too. I can't even believe we are having to talk about such a thing. Can't understand how this all happened I am so careful with her.

We´re so sorry to hear this, Dee Dee, so send the warmest Spanish rays possible and every prayer that it won´t be bad and turn out to be just a nasty blockage.  Take good care of yourself too till Wednesday and hugs to you both.

Dee Dee,

so sorry to hear about this :(  obviously it is very upsetting news. I was hoping it was her back and she was on the way to a speedy recovery. Now it sounds as if it is a tumor and it "could" be malagnent. I am  that she is alright. Please let me know what the vets think and what they are doing for Miss Hallie. Sorry again to hear this Dee Dee I know it breaks your heart, it hurts on my end too, it seems as if I have known you forever.
