OK so I carry the Hal out to potty, baby talking her the whole way. Set her down in the grass...it's been raining. She walks gingerly a few feet to her left and plants herself directly under the downspout while she pees! Water is pouring out so I quickly cup my hands under it, watching my hands fill up and saying under my breath "hurry...hurry...hurry...". Of course, this is a marathon pee going on. My hands are about to runneth over, so I look desperately around to see what I have to shield the child...and the only thing I can come up with is my head. So there I stand, in plain view of the neighbors, with my head under the downspout getting absolutely soaked. We show up to dog class, me with towel wrapped around my head and saying to everyone who comes close, "Don't Ask".

I have a theory that all us doxie people are somewhat crazy. :idiot:

Sound pretty dachie to me. I usually do the same with missie saying I'll pick you up fast when you've done.

OMG.........DD you are wayyyyyyyyy to much...and yes,,,we are very crazy. I wonder of other breeds hoomans get the same training? Our Nin never walks to the bed...she gets carried and Och barks to let us know that IT IS TIME FOR BED SO GET TO IT! :verdict:

LOL I knew I wasn't alone. I'm sure there are tons of similar stories on this board. Like the time right after I got Hallie and was trying to show her it was OK to get into the big crate, so I crammed myself in to coax her in with me, got myself turned around to see her sitting in my chair looking down at me. I knew right then who the real boss was. :thumb:

That's hilarious. I guess us smoothie owners don't have that big of a problem. I remember during Hurricane Isabel taking my guys out in the driveway and letting them pee by themselves. It was raining so hard, they literally had to come back in through a waterfall created by overflowing gutters.

ROFL...DD you crack me up...I can just see it! And it's not like the water coming out of that downspout was warm...brrrrrrr...Hallie girl, You've got it made!!
And yes, other breed owners are just as crazy as doxie owners! Trust me...I'm on two Golden Retriever forums and they are crazy too!! Though, I think the things we do for big dogs vs little dogs can be different! The Golden would be the one with their head under the downspout!! lol

I've been out of town for a week and just saw this post Dee! I am laughing hysterically in my office and my co-workers think I'm nuts! I would have done the same thing! Guess that's the funniest part....the things we do for your babies! LOLOLOLOLOL!
