King Sol - D.O.D. Monday, May 22nd

Hi Everyone, its ME King SOLOMON!!!!

Mom did not know it was my day to be THE DAWG, but I will make sure she makes it up to me (think TREATS).   

My full name is King Solomon, but I am just plain old "Sol" to my buddies.  I am named after a local meat market that has the best hot dogs around.  Its called Salmons, but Mom fixed up the name a little for me so nobody would think I was a fish.

I live with Mom, Dad, Stinky Baby Dog (Kirby) and sometimes my human brothers Scott and Jon.  And in the summers my cuzzin Britaini comes to visit and she lets me sleep with her all summer.  But not stinky baby dog, he has to sleep with mom cuz he's a baby.  and he stinks.  I get to go to work every day with Mom and Dad, and I have more people that love me there.  Even the UPS man brings treats for me, thats why I can stay so buff.

Mom doesn't have my measurements handy, but I know there is not too much space between my belly and the ground.  I am 18" from my neck to the base of my tail.  This we know because I just got a new hug-a-dox with FLAMES on it.  Makes me look FAST.

I have dreamy brown eyes, and silky short black hair.  I am getting some gray, but I think it makes me look distinguished.  And its important for the king to be distinguished, right?

I don't like to pick favorites, but MOM is the one I want to be with 24/7 if at all possible.  After her, sometimes I pick my Dad and I whine when he leaves.  Other times I don't care if he's gone.  Sometimes I pick my brother Scott, but sometimes I won't look at him and I just want my other brother.

My favorite toy is anything red that is fleece and squeaks.  Currently I have a stuffed red bone that says "Bite Me" on it, and I lik to carry it around the office and show people my attitude to keep them in line.

The worst imaginable torture is getting my nails cut.  I don't even like the words "cut" or "nails".  Mom takes me to the dog place to get my nails cut, and I just play dead.  They try to give me treats so I will like them, but I don't eat them.  Dog places are evil.  Once in a while I get tricked and I get my nails cut at the vet, thats not fair.  Things are bad enough at the vet.  I am working on a new law that will make sneak nail cutting against the dog rules.

I sleep in my kennel with stinky baby dog at night.  He doesn't take up much room.  If someone is in the guest room I sleep with them, thats the rules.

I am a MAJOR hunter, chippies, bunnies, moles, anything little.  If I could have one wish it would be that I could climb trees.  Those varmints think they are so smart, but they are not - they can just climb trees.  If I could climb trees they would all be sorry!!

HOOMANS GO AWAY?!?!?!?  I have lots of family that will stay with me if mom and dad go away, but usually I get to go along.  I have been on an airplane 9 times, and we just got back from a road trip to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to see my brother Jon.  We stayed at neat hotels, some of them even gave us EGGS for breakfast!!

Mom has lots of stories, but she said some of you know a lot of them.  We used to write more before we started another business.  Things are going to calm down in the next few months and she said she will write more stories about me, King Sol.  I have a short story of my own -

Once upon a time there was this dog named King Sol.  He was smart and good looking and owned a mom and a dad.  Thats it.  No one else.  Then one day King Sol and his humans stopped at this house in the country.  When they left, there was a funny smell in the car.  Mom said to "be nice" but the king didn't see nuthin to be nice to.  There was a kennel in the back but it wasn't makin noise so King Sol thought it was empty.  When they got home, King Sol found out the smell was a STINKY BABY DOG in the kennel.  He thought they could return the SBD to the house in the country.  King Sol thought if he ignored the SBD and the smell, it would go away.  After three weeks, the smell AND the dog were still there, so King Sol decided to accept this vile intruder.  King Sol will protect this animal the humans call "Kirby" from vacuums, lawn mowers, and other wicked machinery.  However when food, treats, toys, or mom's lap are availble, all bets are off.

King Sol, You did a great job helping your mom do your write up. Sometimes when humans get busy, our brains have too many things to remember and we need the puppers to help us out! I'm glad you finally admit to protecting Kirby. You have to admit that he keeps you from getting lonely sometimes.
It's good to know that your mom may have more time to post stories about you soon. Tell her that if she doesn't have time, and Jon has gotten home next month, she can let him start telling the stories. That can keep him busy, too!
