My daddy got a new job!!!

Porky here- Guess my family is in for some changes soon.  My hoodaddy just got a new job, so we have to move away.  We will be moving to the town where my hoograndma lives!  I can hardly wait cause both my hoogrannies can see me more cause we live so close to them.  The guy we were going to rent our new house from said they my hoomomma and hoodaddy couldn't keep me if I wanted to live there, but I charmed him when we met yesterday and now he says we can live there!!  It is a nice house with a big yard right on the edge of town.  Momma says the only bad part is it has no fenced in yard, so I will have to go out on a chain when I'm outside.  Maybe they could build me one if the man lets us.  We should be moving in to our new house in two weeks, and getting our house we live in now for sale.  I am excited!!

Congrats to your dad on his new job!  I am so glad you were able to charm the man into letting you live in the new house.  Sounds like your mom and dad are going to be very busy for the next few weeks!  I am sure you will help with all the packing.

  on your daddy's new job!  Sounds like you could charm the socks off of anyone, you sweet thang.  If you can't have a fence, maybe your mommy and daddy could hook two X-pens together for an outside patio and poopoo place for you.

Hi Porky....tell your mama and daddy to look at the x-pens.  They work really well!  Buelah and Toby and Oscy have two that hook together for when we go camping.  It's lots better than the chain and it gives you lots of room to play! 
Tell your daddy congratulations on his new job!  It's exciting to get to live by your grammy!  Your a lucky little guy!  :)

We hab 3 x-pens that go together when we go camping - gives us a huge area !!!  Its our own front yard !!!

Congratulations to your dad on the new job.

I vote for the x-pens instead of being tied out.  Knowing dachsies, Porky might put strain on his neck if he continually comes the the end of the tether when "chasing" someone near his yard.   He also would be a sitting duck for any big dog that might come running by and Porky would not be able to run away from (we had that happend twice!!)

Thanks for the advice about using x pens instead!  I hate to tie out any dog especially my porky because I am afraid he would pull hard on it.  I don't know why I didn't think of that.  He does get tied up when he's at his grammy's houses but he seems to do ok with it.  I do plan on using the xpens though just because I think it will help us all feel better about the situation.  I'm pretty sure the guy will let us build a fence on the property too.    Do you think a cat would stay in a xpen?  We have our cat that is moving too and we dont want him running off until he learns where hes moved to.

When Patty was researching x-pens it was said that some come with a lid.  I am not sure that a cat would stay in one without something over the top.   Also, I wouldn't leave Porky out by himself - too easy for someone to reach over - or to have him try to get over - just my opinion !!!!
