Pepper was locked in Dan's shop.  When Dan got home last night and went out to feed the horses, he opened his shop door and there she was!  He tried to pick her up but she wouldn't let him near.  I'd be p*ssed too if I was locked in the shop for 24 hours.  So Dan left the door open so she could come out on her own accord.  Later we saw her sitting in the doorway just taking everything in.  I think she will be okay and won't try to take off or go back to the old place.  I was very happy to see her.  I love her, she is a beautiful sweet cat, a regular purring machine.  I'd hate to have her get hurt crossing the busy road back to the old place.

I'm so glad you found her!  Give her some extra loves and maybe she'll forgive everyone for being locked up!

That's the difference between cats and dachshunds.  If it was a dachshund, he/she would be happy to see you, even if you did lock them up accidentally.

Funny thing, doxies do manage to get themselves left in the strangeest places, closets, mudrooms, garages.....and they don't bark....but prefer to wait while you run around madly screaming their names in total panic.....and then calmly walking out when you finally discover them.  Diabolical.   :verdict:

With Taffy being such a close color to our flooring, we have learned to make sure we know where she is before we close any exterior doors.  There's been a lot of posts lately on all the boards about this very thing.
