Rescue Update

Well things are moving along nicely with our application.  Unfortunately we were unable to adopt Belle as her back went out again and she is going to be staying with her foster family.   She needs to be in a one doggy home with carpets (we have tile and hardwood).  We were a little disappointed but obviously want her to be in the best environment possible.
I got a call this morning from the Rescue folks about a smooth red boy who is just the same age as Oscy!  His name is Tobey and he is currently being fostered in Louisianna.  I had a wonderful chat with his foster mom and I think this little guy is going to be the one!  He comes from a rather abusive situation, poor baby, and is a bit underweight but other than that he is a happy and healthy (finally...he was heartworm positive but has been treated) and is just ready to go to his forever home.   
So again, I am asking for your prayers that this little guy gets to come home to us really soon. 
This is an exciting process and we just can't wait to meet with him!

That is great Terri.  I really hope it works out.  Did they give you any sort of time frame as to when you can get him?

Hi Julie....
They have a transport available from Louisianna on the 29th!  This is a little bit backwards as we still have not been officially approved.  We still have to have our home visit which they will schedule very soon.  The woman who is taking care of my application called and told me about this little guy this morning and I spent some time chatting with his foster mom . 
So....providing that all works out with our home visit I think it would be fair to say he may be able to come home before the end of the month!  I've been to the pet store and have everything he needs so hopefully this will work out!

By the way...do you know how to minimize the picture that I have up of Buelah and Oscy.  All I can see without scrolling is Buelah's bottom half!  I can't figure out how to make it smaller?

I'm so glad to read this news. I had not heard from my friends in FLDR as to how your application was going as I am chin-deep in my own applications, but evidently things are on the move!  :thumb:

We are really excited.  This little guy sounds just perfect!  His foster mom said that they have a transport for the 29th so I am hoping that we get through the rest of the application process asap.  Patsy is doing our phone interview tonight and hopes to get someone to do our home visit before the end of the week.  I'll let you know how it goes.   It's really hard not to get my hopes up after talking with his foster mom.  I just have a really good feeling that this boy is going to come to live with us!
