Humane Society Legislation

The Humane Society of the United States is working on legislation that would provide for people who need to use emergency shelter services to take their pets.  Considering the thousands of animals that were abandoned, lost, or even died as a result of Hurricane Katrina, I think this is truly a worthy cause.  How much more unbearable must it be to go through an emergency AND not know what is happening to your pets????????????!!!!!!!!!  And how terrifying for the animals, as well?
