Dog Car Seats

Hi everyone!

I have a question that maybe someone can help me with. I am a new doxie mom and have multiple puppers. My husband would like to travel with the puppers and we are looking for a car seat or some kind of restraint system for our puppies.  I have surfed the internet and saw a couple that seemed workable, but I don't know if they work well or not.  If there is anyone out there who owns three or more puppers (we have two now and will be getting the third in March) and uses a car seat or other type of restraint system, could you tell me what works for you?

We will have 3 dogs total (total weight of under 35 lbs at full grown) and we drive a four door Honda.

Hi Tess!
I only have one child :) but I know a lot of people who use the Lookout snoozer brand car seats. You would need to seatbelt your babies in, the hold a dox harnesses from the doxie delights web site work well. I made my own version of the Lookout seat for Hallie but one day a rock hit the windshield right in front of her and scared her and she was afraid to ride in her seat anymore, poor baby. So now she rides in a covered crate, strapped into the front seat, and she does much better. The lookouts come in 2-3 dog sizes too, although to me they get pretty crammed if you get too many in there. I dont know how much seat room you have LOL if you are like me, you vehicle will keep growing with the dogs!  :thumb:

Thanks for the info. I will check it out.  You're right about the car needing to grow. Our last baby will be ready to come home to us in March. Then we will have three doxie darlings! As it is, I don't think we can fit all the (human) kids and all the doggies in the car at the same time!

The lookout car seats are wonderful! My dogs love their seats, but I only have 2 pups. I know of someone who has big standard doxies, and the lookout people made them one with their specific measurements. I don't know if this will help.
