7:30 am--time for morning walkies. IN DA RAIN.  Leashes: check.  Harnesses: check. Dog towels: check. Zu-doo bags: check. Coat with hoodie: check.  PJ top tucked into pants: check. Waterproof clogs: check.

Call dogs.  Call dogs AGAIN. Rattle the cookie jar.  Dogs appear. Put leashes on the furkids. Open side door (pulls in).  Open screen door (pushes out).  Dogs peer outside: "It's RAININ', moooooooom!" I step outside. Loop leashes around right wrist.

(A note of explanation as to what happens next: the doorway is only ONE step down, but the handle on the screen door is extra high to accomodate the deadbolt on the other door--making my shoulders level with the latch.  I know, I know, I'm SHORT!!!!!!!!!)

Dogs spy neighbor kitty sauntering along fence and take OFF!  I take one FAST step and the hoodie on my coat catches the door handle and whatthef***?!?!??!  I am STUCK!!!!!!!!  Howling hounds cut off the circulation on my wrist while the hoodie pulls me backward. YOINKS!

Strange look from neighbor followed by more words you cannot print :idiot: and we're NOT EVEN OFFICIALLY OUT THE DOOR.

You done laughing yet, DD?

LOL!!!  Some people attract stuff like this, and I'm afraid you're one of them Leslie!!!  I bet you're fun at a party.

Ya know, Leslie, I'm always looking for your posts, especially when they are a new topic. Most of the time I'm guaranteed to be laughing by the end of it. This was over the top. Of course when I walk Schatzi (10 lbs) and Molly (45 lbs) I can usually come up with some good stories of my own. This one, however, is one for the books. Speaking of which, maybe we should all get together and put our stories together in a book. The proceeds could go to one of the Dachshund rescues. Hmmmmm.

ROTFL!!!! I'm sorry to laugh at your misfortunes Les, but dang you can get me going. LOL!!! Maybe I'm the twisted one for the hilarious visuals your descriptions put into my head, but I get some good ones.  :laughing7: It's usually a whole series of a events that get you...not just one thing at a time, which adds to the entertainment value. LOL!! Poor Les...I'm still telling people about you setting your hand on fire, now I have new fodder!  We need to come baby proof your house!! I will be chuckling about this one all day.

This got me to laughing so hard!  I'm sorry it had to happen to you, but it is entertaining to read about!  I hope your hand/wrist is better and that you weren't choked by your hoodie yanking you back!  I guess the furkids got to do their business outside in the rain though...lol :walk2:

Wow...... I hate to laugh at this... but I just can't help it.  It hits a little too close to home!!!  Sounds exactly like something I would do.  Except I hooked my purse in the seatbelt of the car, dog jumped out, I tried to get out with the seatbelt on.  Seatbelt locked, I slam back in the seat.  Unhook the seatbelt, get to a standing position, dog runs to the end of the leash, purse is stuck, I'm standing on ice one second, laying flat on my back on ice the next.  I feel your pain, Leslie, I really REALLY do.
