...its the curse we bear...)

There will come a day when you'll be happy for the "curse you bear".  I was still being carded when I was past 30.  Now I'm happy that I look considerably younger than I am.  I hate having my picture taken so here is one of the few that exist.

ITA with Kim.  My dachsie are much more photogenic than I am!

I love the FBI hat!  It gets really bright here, and I find I need a hat when I am out.....and thought it would be great if I could get a nice light colored cap for Taffy.  She came back from our walks covered with mine once....didn't do much for her ....covered most of her head and shoulders  :2funny:

Did you get your from a store that has a catalog, or know of a good source on the internet?  I tried a few, and didn't find caps made in the same style.  I know I said I wouldn't dress her (and yet, who thought the perfect Halloween costume for a Florida doxy would be gator...the length and shape would work out sooooo well)...but a cap woud be more than just a fashion statement.

I actually got the hat at a pet store. The pink one in the picture has a squeaker in the flower. Here is the link of the company that makes them (doggles)http://store.yahoo.com/doggles/k9klandk9ha.html Sorry it took me so long to reply! Been busy and just figured out what the new replies to your posts things was all about! :iamwithstupid:

This is a picture of my dd, Jessica (Faith's mom) and I with our little buddy, Piddleman. It was taken in 1993 when he was only 6 months old.

Charlie

Kathy,

Do you still have both your golden and your doxie?  Charlie, my doxie, is almost 5 years old and my golden, Abbie turned 11 months today.  Despite Abbie's size, Charlie shows Abbie who's boss.

No, Charlie...sadly, Piddleman went to the bridge on January 30, 2004. But, when we first brought him home we had another Golden named Buck. They were good buddies. Buck had a kennel in our backyard and one night someone came into the yard, cut the lock on the kennel door and took Buck. We never did find him. Piddleman used to go into the kennel and sit in Buck's house and howl the most mournful howl I have ever heard. He really missed his big friend.
Finn came to live with us not quite two months after Piddleman went to the bridge. He was a rescue. His family was in the Navy and got transfered to Hawaii. So, they left him behind w/ some friends who said they would find him a home. The daughter-in-law of a close friend called my friend to tell her about Finn. My friend knew I had always wanted another Golden so she called me and that same night we went to meet Finn. After about 45 minutes we decided that we would bring him home with us to his forever home. That was almost two years ago!

Charlie

Do you know why the Navy family didn't take their pup with them when they posted to Hawaii?  Mama's considering asking to be sent to Hawaii once we leave NY and knows that we'd have to be confined for about six months after arriving.  Other then it just being expensive, she's wondering what other reason might exist not to take us along (or to make sure she doesn't request Hawaii).   :thinik:

I think the main reason why they didn't take Finn is b/c of the quaranteen. But they also just had a baby right before they left and I think that played a part in it. The main reason was the quaranteen though...it is long and expensive.
But boy, am I ever glad they decided not to take Finn!! He is just such a honey. He was almost three when we got him and so we missed all the cute puppy stuff. But the bonus there was he was already neutered, house broken and obedience trained! lol Can't beat that! He was also a great comfort to me in the early days after Pdog went to the bridge...nothing better than hugging a big gold dog who sits patiently and lets you hug him! (sorry doxie pals! Pdog was NOT a snuggler!)
Let me know what your mama decides about her transfer!
